So any great memories of Mary Ann-a truly selfless lady. Her warm personality attracted everyone who had the pleasure of meeting and also sharing volleyball initiatives with her. I consider it an honour to have shared many of those with her. She and husband Dave led the volleyball charge locally and extended their influence provincially. We have lost a lady and a friend to many.
God rest your soul my friend. Sincerely Jack Brownell

Dan & Family,
I am saddened to learn of the passing of your Mom. I first met your Mom on our St.Malachy’s/St.Vincent’s basketball trips to St.Stephen to play the Spartans. As a coach of the team, she always seemed so calm & collected which is not easy for a coach to maintain in a competitive situation. She had that “magical combination” of firm and fair which made her such a wonderful coach, teacher, and parent.

Dan, Tom and Andrea,
We are so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. She taught me at St Vincent’s and I loved her. One Christmas afternoon, I looked out our living room window on Central Ave in Quinton Heights. It was snowing and your mother and father were pulling the three of you on a toboggan down the street. I’m pretty sure there was a dog as well! I’ve thought of that memory many times over the years maybe because it was a perfect Christmas family picture.
Look after each other and cherish your beautiful memories.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann and Don Ketchum

Mary Ann was my phys-ed teacher, volleyball coach, biggest mentor and employer (babysitter!) during my high school years. She was very respected and loved by all who knew her. I would not have gone on to university to play volleyball or become a teacher if not for her (and Dave's) above and beyond support and encouragement. Wonderful memories of the whole family, always lots of kids running around the gyms and fun times babysitting Dan, Tom and Andrea. Yup I changed your diapers!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Thank you for making a difference Mary Ann. You will always be in my heart!

Dear Danny, Tom, Andrea & Families,
Life for Mary Ann has changed, not over ! Cherish all the memories you have with your sweet Mom. She was a great Coach, Mentor, Dear Friend, and was so much FUN to be around. Thanks to her, I started teaching PE at Saint Vincent's- filling 'big shoes' for sure. But she made the 'transition' easy. VNB originated in the basement of their home. You 3 children 'literally' grew up in gymnasiums, while we enjoyed the leadership of both your Mom & Dad. Great Memories. Learned to be a player, coach, referee from both Mary Ann & David. She was so proud of all of you & your families. Let us 'celebrate' Mary Ann's Life & cherish all the memories. Love you, Mary Ann xo

Sincere condolences to you for the loss of your amazing mom. She was an outstanding PE teacher, coach and an inspiration to me - I went into PE and did my practice teaching at ST. V. with Mary Ann (some of us called her the Gull back in the day) as my mentor. It was a fabulous experience, and I still cherish her guidance and encouragement. I only taught PE for a few years, and I am presently in my 44th year of teaching, with Mathematics being my main subject area. I have so many beautiful memories of Mary Ann, one of my favourites was when I drove to Fredericton on her wedding day, found the church and slipped into the back of the church to witness the wedding of two amazing people. She saw me at the end of the ceremony and invited me to the house to share a toast for the happy couple - it was very special. Rest in peace, beautiful lady.

I remember asking her advice on how I was doing. She never let me down, solid encouragement was her special way.

Our hearts broke when we learned of Mary Anns passing. She had such zest for life and was the kindest soul we knew. She opened her home and heart to us and Rawling. Bill and I always enjoyed our chats with her. We have been missing our puppy visits with Finn and know Rawling is probably already laying on her lap waiting for a piece of her muffin.
