Obituary of Donald Patrick Smith
With profound sadness, the family of Douglas Patrick Smith announce his passing on January 30, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 22, 1955, in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late George M. Smith and Alice J. Smith (Flavin).
Pat will be sadly missed by his son Clark Smith; sisters: Mary Smith (Denis), Kay Sceals (Richard), Elizabeth Chase (Wayne), Heather Thompson (Eugene) and Heidi Angelopoulos (George); brothers: Bernie Smith (Carol), Murray Smith (Yvonne), Kevin Smith (Billie-Jo) and Allan Smith; special friend Francis Levesque; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Pat loved to listen to country music, was an avid washer toss & horseshoe player. He was a skilled carpenter and loved to help his family with any at home projects. Pat also loved being outdoors and spending time with family and his favorite person Francis. You could always count on Pat for a wise crack or smart remark. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). In keeping with Pat’s wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, donations to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
