Obituary of Georgina Regina Cyr

Peacefully, surrounded by her family on the morning of February 1^st, 2023, Georgina Regina Cyr passed away at the age of 94. Born in Campbellton on September 5^th, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hannah Cyr (Wellman). Beloved wife of the late Leo J. Cyr.

Georgina is survived by her children George (Lynn) Cyr of Willow Grove, Catherine (Tony) Cyr of Baxters Corner, Louise Cyr of Willow Grove, Earl (Sherry) Cyr of Baxters Corner, Douglas (Heather) Cyr of Willow Grove, Ralph Cyr (Barb Jones) of Baines Corner, Wayne Cyr of Willow Grove, Leola (Edward) McKinney of Barnesville, Wendell Cyr (Amber Garnett) of Baxters Corner, and her ‘ honorary daughter ‘ Sally Wills.

She will be forever remembered by her grandchildren Bradford Cyr, Leo Cyr, Kelley Cyr, Leo Higgins, Coralina Brighton, Edwina Seeley, Tristan Garnett, Tracy Daigle, Shelley Allain, Eric Cyr, Jeffrey Cyr, Stephanie Somers, Christa Cyr, Jonathan Cyr, Dominique Cyr, Lorne “Stephen” Cyr, Benjamin Cyr, Jason McKinney, and Alisha McKinney; her great grandchildren Christian Cyr, Alexander Cyr, Ashley Greer, Katelynn Cyr, Abigail Cyr, Grace Cyr, Sophia Cyr, Maxwell Cyr, Drew Higgins, Mikayla Higgins, Kendra Brighton, Kyla Brighton, Brandon Brighton, Emma Daigle, Isabel Daigle, Jack Allain, Melody McKay, Rebecca Cyr, Joseph Cyr, Liam Rogers, Andre Cyr, Oliver Cyr, Elica Theriault, Madison Cyr, Logan Cyr, and Aaliyah Kalczycki; her great great grandchildren James Johnston, Jesiah Johnston, and Paisley Higgins.

Georgina will be missed by her brother William (the late May) Cyr, her sisters Elizabeth St. Clair and Ellen (Emilien) Ouellette of Campbellton, as well as by her sisters-in-law Joyce Cyr of Baxters Corner and Germain Legacy of Campbellton.

Besides her parents and husband, Georgina was predeceased by her siblings Geneva Dugas, Irene Cyr, Edna Cyr, Leonard Cyr, Henry Cyr, Earl Cyr, and John Cyr; her children Gloria Cyr, Florence Garnett, and Victor Cyr, and her grandsons Christian Cyr and Benjamin McKinney.

Friends and family will be received at Brenan’s Funeral Home (634-7424), 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, on Sunday, February 5^th, 2023, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 4347 Loch Lomond Road, on Monday morning at 10am. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those unable to attend in person, the Mass will be livestreamed via the Funeral Home website.
