Obituary of Brian Ronald McGaghey

The death of Brian McGaghey of Saint John occurred on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on August 28, 1952 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Ronald and Edna (Parlee) McGaghey.

Prior to retiring, Brian was employed as the superintendent of Park Place Apartments…. a career he truly enjoyed and where many lifelong friendships were made.  Brian enjoyed game shows and was rarely seen without a Tim’s coffee in hand.  His kindness, friendliness and willingness to help others will never be forgotten. 

Brian will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Brian Jr. (Tasha) and Jason (Nancy); brother, Bev; grandchildren, Shyanne, Kaylie, Bryanna, Jayden, Darren, Abygail, Joseph, Kiana, Nicholas, Cayden and Landon; great-granddaughters, Peyton and Elena; nephew, Shawn and longtime friends, Brenda and Marg.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Kathy and siblings, Edith, Charles and Darren.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM.  Interment will take place at a later date.
