So sorry to see Mr. Harkin's has passed. He was one of my favourite teachers at St. Peter's, even though History wasn't my forte. Even though I graduated from St. Peter's Jr. High in 1973, he still knew who I was when I'd run into him at the Plaza now & again. He will be missed. Condolences to Mrs. Harkins & his daughter, Tracey. RIP Mr. Harkins.

JoAnne and Tracey, I am so sorry for your loss. I was so lucky my first year teaching to be at St. Peter's Intermediate school. I watched and learned so much from Bill. He made the subjects he taught fun for the students and they were engaged in the learning process and I'm sure, many learned despite themselves. He was a very gifted teacher.

I’m so sorry to hear of Mr Harkin’s passing, my condolences are with you. He was by far my most favourite and influential teacher. I loved to get in to debates with him on all sorts of topics and he called my the leader of the feminists for class 911. In a world where my voice was silenced much of the time he gave he an opportunity to speak freely which gave me confidence. No doubt that he has made similar impacts on other students over the years. He lives on in the students that connected with him, this is something to be proud of.

Dear Joanne, Tracey & family,
We were so very sad to read of Bill's passing. Michael felt honoured to work with Bill, for 21 years at St. Peter's School & said, that Bill always had a smile on his face & ready to help out in any situation, at a moments notice . I ( Debbie ) , always described Bill , as a gentle gentleman, who had that unique gift, of making you feel , like you were the only one in the room, his sincerity & kindness was that palpable !. We were always left with a warm feeling , after chatting with he & Joanne. He was truly a wonderful person, who we will never forget.
Please know we will be keeping you , in our thoughts & prayers, as you all go through this very painful loss.
With our deepest sympathy, love & friendship
