Joanne & family,
I was shocked and saddened by Paul’s passing. I taught with Paul for many years at Forest Hills Junior High. He was a wonderful person and a terrific teacher. He was always available to offer support and counsel. His warm smile and wise advice could quickly turn a challenging experience into a learning experience. Before I read his obituary, I related the St Patrick’s day pub hop story to my husband. Paul had a difficult time living that one down. Seeing it in print made me chuckle and think of all the good times the teachers of FHJH shared over my years on staff there. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. The memory of Paul will live on through family and friends.

My sincere condolences to your family. Mr O'Connor was truly one of the best of the best. They don’t make teachers like him anymore. He instilled a strong work ethic in us as students and taught us proper respect and compassion. He would make us write for days in his English classes. If you know your grammar you can thank him for it
Rest Peacefully Mr O’Connor

Our sincere condolences to Aunt Joanne, Colleen, Erin and family. We are so deeply sorry for your loss.
Whenever I think of my Uncle Paul I always think of Notre Dame football, the O'Connor family tree and my visit with you all when I made it to Saint John to play soccer so many years ago. It warms my heart that he volunteered to coach girls softball and soccer at his school.
I came across some photos I wanted to share of him with his siblings from our cousin Sean's wedding. Much love to you all.

Forest Hills.
1989.
I only had him the one year but Mr. O’Connor set the bar high.
He became the standard by which I would measure subsequent teachers and professors.
We would all be better off with teachers of this caliber.
Sorry for your loss.

Our sincere condolences to Joanne, Colleen (David), Erin (Erin) and their children Rory & Maeve on the passing of Paul. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time and know the many fond memories of him will long remain.
Always enjoyed our short visits to Saint John and getting caught up with Paul & family over the years and its amazing how quickly time goes by. Paul will be remember as a loving and caring family man and a dedicated and knowledgeable educator who always acted in the best interests of the students. He enjoyed travelling to the many national historical sites in Canada and the United States as he had a keen interest in military history. He will be missed by many.
May your soul have passed through the Emerald Isle on its journey to your eternal resting place in the Heavens above.
May you Rest in Peace Brother, May you Rest in Peace.

Words cannot express how we feel about our dear brother, brother in law, and uncles passing so suddenly.
Although we were separated from one another geographically we kept in touch especially during special occasions.
We always lamented the distance and not being able to be as close as family should be.
Paul was very supportive of his brother Terry during his prostate cancer radiation and he came out west for quite a few visits which helped our families stay in touch.
We will miss him dearly.
Love to dear Joanne, Colleen, and Erin, and families

To the family and friends of Mr. O'Connor
My family and I have had the pleasure of having Mr. O'Connor as a teacher and he was a large impact on our lives.
But for me he was someone I could rely on to help me in a lot of way through out my education. He helped me to find a way to pay more attention to my education and less time " Goofing Off ". I had a ton of respect for him and he will always be a part of my life. He was very well respected and I am very proud that he had such an amazing impact on my life. He will be sadly missed but forever in my thoughts, may he rest easy knowing that he had such an impact on my life and my families life as well as the many many students he has helped over the years.
Rest Easy Mr. O'Connor thank you for everything.

I was so saddened to hear of Paul’s passing. He was also so kind and had such a zest for life. The O’Connor home was always welcoming and Paul always stopped me on my way up stairs to check in and see how things were going when I was a kid.
My heart is breaking for you all. Praying being surrounded by family and friends and sharing memories will bring you all peace during this difficult time and in the days ahead.

Joanne ~ so sorry to hear of your husband's passing. Although I never met him, being a north ender also, I think I knew of his family and if I recall it correctly, I think he grew up on Victoria Street. However, hopefully you will remember me as I remember you and your family as we lived next door to each other for many years (corner of Adelaide Street and Millidge Avenue) and I have many fond memories of those years. Sincerest condolences to your family as well as to your O'Connor in-laws.

Thank you Lois for your kind words. It will be a big adjustment for me as Paul and I have been together since 1964. I remember you and Lynda and David. I always felt bad that we lost touch with one another over the years. I have been in the Sussex area many times when I was taking Mum for lunch at the All Seasons. Unfortunately we lost Mum a couple of years ago. I have many fond memories of those days as well taking library books back for your dear Mum among others.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy and condolences.
I had the pleasure of being one of his students. I was a kid who could find trouble
And be distracted but he always managed to show kindness and a little irritation over my nonstop chatter and laughter .
He was a good teacher, a patient Vice principal and a great man. He made a difference in my life and I never forgot him.
