Obituary of Paul Henderson Logan
It is with profound sadness that the family of Paul Henderson Logan announces his passing on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Paul was born in Saint John N.B. on April 8th, 1938, and was the eldest son of Fred and Margaret Logan.
Paul’s life changed forever when he met a young lady from England named Maureen. They were married in 1962 and spent over 60 loving years together. Maureen was the love of his life. Paul was the proud father of three children, Andrew, Heather, and Peter. His family was the most important thing to him. He was a loving father and a caring husband, and, very funny. He was always quick with a joke and made those around him laugh. Paul graduated from Saint John Vocational School in 1956, where he served as the editor of the school's very first yearbook. He then went on to become a Chartered Accountant and started his career with Reevey Blackmore in the late 1950s. He then formed a partnership with Earl Beers (Logan and Beers) in the 1960s, where he worked until 1982. Paul loved spending his summers at the Washademoak where so many lasting memories were made, especially around the evening bonfires surrounded by family and friends. Paul was forced into early retirement after a cyst was found on his brain. Thankfully, the cyst was successfully removed and he was able to live a long life. In 2019, he suffered a stroke and as a result, had to move into Embassy Hall at the Shannex in Quispamsis. Despite the challenges that life threw at Paul, he always kept a positive outlook. Even when he was confined to a wheelchair and in a nursing home, he never lost his positive attitude or sense of humour.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff (which includes his daughter-in-law Tricia) of Embassy Hall (Shannex, Quispamsis). The compassion and care provided to Paul over the past 3 and half years was amazing.
Paul is survived by his children Andrew (Stephanie), Heather (Darrell), and Peter (Tricia); grandchildren, Carly, Madison, Matthew, Lydia, Leah, Max, Hunter, and Jackson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends. Paul was predeceased by his loving wife Maureen, parents Fred and Margaret, brother Brian; grandchildren baby Joshua and baby Andrew.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). A Funeral Service will be held in The Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul’s name to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
