Obituary of George Winfield Hubbard

It is with sad hearts we announce the death of George Winfield Hubbard of Saint John, beloved husband for 70 years of Carolyn Hubbard (Smith), which occurred at his home Friday, March 24th. Born April 14, 1927, in Pereaux, NS.

He was the son of the late Norman and Loretta (Sanford) Hubbard. Prior to his retirement, George was employed at Galbraith Construction.  He had a smile for all he met and equally loved to put a smile on everyone’s face. George was a true gentleman and will be missed by all who knew him.

George is survived by his wife Carolyn, his children, Gregory Hubbard (Wanda) of Fredericton and Linda Cameron (Rodney) of Saint John; sister, Charlotte Clark of ON; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bernie, Walter, Fred, Roy, Phillip as well as sisters, Dorothy Woodsworth and Rachel Hubbard.

For years, George was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church (Lancaster Ave). As a Christian, we have the assurance we will all see each other again.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, beginning at 10:30 AM. Visitation will take place from 9:00 – 10:30 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of George may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
