Obituary of Sheila Katherine Levesque

The death of Sheila K. Levesque (nee LeClair) occurred at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Thursday, March 30, 2023.  Mrs. Levesque was born in Saint John, the daughter of the late Alice (Broderick) and Edward LeClair.  She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Gerald; brother, Kevin LeClair and sister, Patricia Barry.  Sheila is survived by her daughter, Mary Snow (Jeff); four sons, Michael (Stephanie), Mark (Andrea), Matthew and Patrick (Tina); nine grandchildren, Samantha, Katie, Danielle, Allison, Shawna, Mitchell, Megan, Ben and Sarah; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Eileen Cusack; brother, Paul LeClair and several nieces and nephews.

Known to many as “Nannie Sheila” through her community fundraising efforts for the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation and the Brighten Group, as well as many other causes.  Sheila was a lifetime member of the CWL and was a past director of the Cathedral Parish Centre for many years.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  However, the family will be greeting guests at the entrance of the church from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM.  Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home for the care and support shown towards Sheila and her family over the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rocmaura Foundation, Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, the Brighten Group c/o the SJRH Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
