Obituary of Victor Joseph Legere

Victor Legere

May 6, 1935 – April 11, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Victor announces his sudden but peaceful passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 11, 2023.  He was the son of Pierre and Marie (Noel) Legere. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.  In Victor’s earlier years, he was employed at the port of Saint John as a C.P.R Trucker.  He also worked as a pulp cutter for many years.  He loved to tinker with everything from lawn-mowers to cars and worked hard to renovate a home for his family which became a gathering spot for his family’s many friends.  Victor also enjoyed a good hockey game and played bingo in his spare time. He will be remembered as a quiet, kind and compassionate man who spent many summers in Tracadie at a summer home he renovated with his late wife and companion of 57 years, Laudianne (Benoit).  Victor is survived by his son, Ivan (Nicole) Legere, one brother and one sister, and many nieces and nephews.  

Resting at Brennans Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. A celebration of Victor’s life will be held at Brenan’s with visitation on Friday, April 14^th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery following the visitation. Donations in memory of Victor may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
