Obituary of Mary Gertrude Lee
It’s with great sadness that the family of Mary Gertrude Lee announce her unexpected passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 5, 2023. Mary was born June 12, 1944, to the late Violet & Murray Gray of Saint John, NB. Mary was the last of her 13 siblings and was also predeceased by her son William “Tom” Howell. Mary is survived by her husband Robert Lee, daughter Tanya Gormley (John), son Robert Lee (Danielle), grandchildren Jennifer Gibson (Steve), Janet Gormley, Matthew Howell (Melissa), and Stephanie Brideau (Joshua). Mary is also survived by her 2 great grandchildren Thomas Howell and Natalie Stevens, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was a person who enjoyed cooking for everybody, you always left her house with a full stomach. She loved all of her grand kids and would do anything for them. Mary was a person who had many talents, including cooking, baking, and making beautiful flower arrangements. She was a person who always kept busy and enjoyed doing multiple projects. You could always have an interesting conversation with Mary, she loved to converse with people.
The family would also like to thank the Doctor’s and Nurses of the Saint John Regional Hospital Emergency Department for their professionalism and compassion during a very difficult time.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A Funeral Service will take place from The Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
