Obituary of Marilyn Ruth Bernatchez

It is with much sadness that the family of Marilyn Bernatchez, loving wife of the late Roland Bernatchez, announce her passing which occurred on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Rocmaura Nursing Home.  Born on June 29, 1945 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Jane (Montgomery) Duffy.

Marilyn devoted her life to caring for the needs of her loved ones.  She was always up for a game of bingo and in her earlier years, she enjoyed baking.  Marilyn will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her children, Roland (Carla), Richard (Eileen) and Tanya (Keith); grandchildren, Roland, Damian, Jessica, Elizabeth, Stephen and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Selene, Arthur and Logan; brothers, John, Patrick (Bonnie) and Charles; sisters, Patricia, Mary, Karen, Susan (Brian), Linda, Kim (Blair) and Michelle; as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, was predeceased by her granddaughter, Emma Jane and sisters, Margaret Rose (in infancy) and Sally.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will take place on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A funeral liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 12:00 PM.
