Visitation
Obituary of John Richard Nicholson
It is with great sadness that the family of John Nicholson of Rowley, NB, announce his passing which occurred on Monday, July 31, 2023 at his home with his loving partner, Jean, at his side. Born on October 18, 1962 in Oshawa, ON, he was the son of Beryl (Mattatall) Nicholson and the late John Nicholson.
To know John was to love John. He was proud and always had a grand presence about him and was famous for his social and entertaining ways. John was a heavy equipment operator by trade but there really wasn’t a job that this man couldn’t do. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He adored his Harley Davidson, enjoyed country music and loved his feline companions, Maggie and Whitey. Most of all, John looked forward to the times spent with his loved ones and his love and devotion to Jean was second to none.
John was the cherished partner of Jean Jardine and the loving step-father of Christina Currie, Kelly Currie (Danny), Melissa Perry and Tasha Perry. In addition to being one of Beryl's wonderful children, John was the brother of Steven Nicholson (Susan) and Debra Nicholson; grandfather of Keira, Harper, Logan and Jeremy; brother-in-law of Cathie McBride (Doug); uncle of Jonny and Ryan; as well as the special friend of Shane and Marjorie Scribbans. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his step-daughter, Serena Perry and niece, Jasmine Johnston.
Although there will be no funeral service, relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will take place on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424).
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue.
