Obituary of Alexander Daryl Bishop
It is with great shock and sadness that the family of Alexander Bishop of Saint John announce his tragic and untimely death which occurred on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Born on April 4, 1985 in Saint John, he was a son of Daryl Bishop (Karin Brodeur) and Nancy (Keleher) Bishop.
In his earlier years, Alex was an excellent athlete who excelled at and enjoyed the sport of soccer; with one of his proudest accomplishments being a skilled and valued member of the provincial soccer championship team. Alex was a heavy equipment operator by trade, a career that he loved and where many friendships were made. He will forever be deeply missed.
Alex is survived by his precious son who was his light in times of darkness, Sawyer Bishop; siblings, Jack Bishop (Jamie Burnside) and Cynthia Bennett (Jeff Anderson); uncles and aunts, William Bishop, Betty Kimball, Don Bishop (Sandy), David Bishop (Barb), Marilyn Fanjoy, Carol Dixon (Malcom), Michael Bishop (Sue), Irene Keleher and Robert MacKinnon (Heather); niece, Shyanne Anderson; as well as numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his aunt, Joan Hawkes and uncles, Fred Bishop and Terry Keleher.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 6-8 PM and Friday, August 25, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will take place from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM. An interment service for family and close friends will take place on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Fernhill Cemetery.
As per the family’s request, please no flowers. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
