In loving memory of Mrs. Brown:
I will always remember the incredible warmth and kindness of Mrs. Brown.
Even though it has been a long time since we crossed paths, her presence has stayed with me in a profound way. Mrs. Brown was not only a wonderful mother but also a genuinely beautiful person.
During my teenage years, I had the privilege of being close friends with Kim, (Mrs. Brown's daughter). Mrs. Brown always treated me with kindness, grace, and respect. I will never forget the summer when she opened her home in Rothesay, NB, and welcomed me with open arms. Her generosity and care made me feel like a part of the family.
Mrs. Brown had a gentle spirit that left a lasting impression on me. She had a way of making everyone around her feel loved and valued. Her warmth and kindness were truly remarkable.
To the entire family and especially to my dear friend Kim, I want to extend my deepest condolences.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Darren Johnston

Karen was the greatest person I have ever met. She always encouraged everyone around her to do better, to achieve their goals, & she would help in any way. She taught me that you don't wait for life to come to you, but you go after life. We once sang Celtic music from Halifax to Saint John & back again. Her favorite song was Dirty Old Town. She had such a great energy for life and understood that family, and friends were the greatest gift, she loved every one deeply. I will miss her, and I wish to see her again. My condolences to her family & I know her star will shine on. Love Darlene MacDonald, Fort McMurray, Alberta

I was saddened to hear of Karen's passing. I worked with Karen at Saint John Shipbuilding on the Canadian Patrol Frigate project in the 1990's. Her experience and maturity were great additions to our team. She was a great lady! My condolences to her family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I first met Karen in 1979. We both lived in Saint Eustache and traveled to work in Canadair together. We talked a lot as we drove – I’d just been made a supervisor and Karen’s words of wisdom guided my management style, particularly related to equality of women in the workplace. Karen drew us into her family and helped feed us when the company Bill and I started left us counting our pennies.
Karen and my wife Carol gave birth very close to one another, with Kelly and Nathan. Karen had lots of help for us here too, for newly minted Canadian parents. And the two toddlers became fast friends.
We worked together in Saint John Shipbuilding from 1986 onward, where Karen and I were both managers in the Logistic Support Department, helping each other as we worked for a toxic, bullying boss. We were friends outside of work too; our families shared barbeques, parties, and Christmases.
Karen was always calm and in control, her sparkling eyes and easy smile bred confidence in all she dealt with.
We stayed in touch but spoke less frequently. Karen visited us when she was in Calgary in July 1995, and we visited her in Halifax 10 years ago. We shared occasional words through FaceBook, so it was a shock to hear she’d passed.
She was a force in our lives and we’re so glad to have called her our friend. She’ll be missed for her warm, giving nature and that sparkle in her eyes.
Bob, Carol, Abi, and Nathan Laws.

My sincerest condolences to her precious children, grandchildren and sister’s …including that big beautiful family she built….may your wonderful memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.
Heaven just got a wee bit spicy and that big laugh will bring a smile to Saint Peter I’m sure!
Karen was my Boss and mentor but mostly my ( older sister friend!) Karen invented (Karen Talks) well before (Ted Talks)! I always fancied her an older Sister type figure ,we never talked age and I came up short when I viewed her year of birth! I would never have had her pegged for that many years ahead of me - I’m still in my 50’s! I’m sure she would have loved that I thought she was a much younger Classy Dame! That would sure bring a wink and a smile to her eye.!
She took many of us under her wing through the Frigit Program back in the Saint John Shipbuilding Days! She taught me work life balance! End the day with a smile and a glass of good wine (when I do I’ll still think of you!)
