Obituary of Gail Darlene Donnahee
It is with broken hearts that Gail’s family announces her unexpected yet peaceful passing on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Loch Lomond Villa with the love of her life, Mike by her side.
Born in Saint John on October 2, 1955, Gail was the youngest of four to the late Harold and Doris (Trenholm) Murray. Gail married her true love Mike on October 8, 1977. Just shy of 46 years together they have displayed a truly inspirational love story.
Gail worked for Baxter Foods in her early years. After becoming a mother she devoted her life to raising her daughters while teaching evening classes at nbcc before opening ‘Gails Little Daycare’ where she happily became the ‘other mother’ to the children she loved so much. Later she went on to work for Dr. Isa then Dr. Colford until her health began to decline.
Gail enjoyed many family vacations over the years, truck trips with Mike, phone chats and laughs with friends, reality TV, her church Full Gospel Assembly, and the simpler things that brought little joys like mac ‘n’ cheese, poutine, and iced capps.
Survived by her cherished husband Michael; daughters Sarah and Janelle; granddaughter Violet – her pride and joy; brothers, Norman and Stephen; special niece Christa; nephew Scott and their children Marckus, Marcie and Dax, cousins and best friends Wendy, Ethel; her extended Donnahee family and all the ones she mothered over the years.
Besides her parents Gail is predeceased by her big brother David; sister-in-law Darlene; and in laws Tim and Mary.
Mom will forever be remembered for being so full of life, her quick wit, that Murray snore, and the genuine connections that she made with every single person that had the pleasure to meet her. She never said goodbye without a hug, a kiss and an “I Love You”.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 11 AM at the Church of Full Gospel Assembly with interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
Donations in Gail’s memory may be made to the Loch Lomond Villa. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.BrenansFH.com
