Obituary of Christene Mae Sooley

With heavy hearts, the family of Christene Mae (Hutchinson) Sooley announce her unexpected passing on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born February 13, 1958, in Sussex, NB, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Emma (Teakles) Hutchinson.

Christene is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Daryl Saunders; sons: Chad Sooley (Julie), Davin Sooley (Nick Parsons), Howie Sooley, Stephan Tosserams (Nicki); step-daughters: Lisa Dunn (Rob), Sarah Chiasson (Adam), and Theresa King; grandchildren: Emma and Owen Sooley, Owen and Colin Tosserams; step-grandchildren: Marcus and Cayden Thibault, Brodie and Bently Dunn; brothers, Brian Hutchinson and Todd Hutchinson (Vivian Spence); sister, Kimberley Chown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, Christene was predeceased by her first husband, Selwyn Sooley; and infant sister, Bonita Hutchinson.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), where visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 2 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11 am from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 486 Kennebecasis River Road, Hampton, with interment to follow in Riverbank Cemetery, Norton.
