Obituary of Kenneth Maclean Pickford
It is with great sadness that we, the family of Kenneth ‘Ken’ MacLean Pickford, age 61, of Saint John New Brunswick, announce his passing on Wednesday 25th October 2023. After a brief battle with a sudden and unexpected illness, he passed with family by his side.
Born 21st February 1962, in Sydney Cape Breton N.S., Ken grew up on Sydney Road, was sociable and well-liked by all, and was known as the ‘professor’ in school, he married his high school sweetheart, Anne Shirley and they had 4 children. Ken was a consummate salesman, who met a variety of people and characters throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, working on cars, and having a drink with friends. He was someone who couldn’t do enough for anyone who needed help.
Ken will be remembered by his wife of 42 years, Anne Shirley (née LeBlanc), his children Christina Joyce, Jennifer Anne (Alexander Serrano), Kassandra Jean (Luke Cater), and Edward Richard ‘Rick’, as well as his 2 granddaughters Isabel and Lily Serrano. Ken has 2 living siblings Terrance Pickford and Brenda Rodgers.
Ken was predeceased by his parents Edward ‘Ned’ and Annabelle (née Edwards), his brother Thomas Edward, his sister Christina Agnes, and his brother Spurgeon Pickford.
The family of Ken would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of 4B North and the Palliative Care unit. Their compassion, care, and service to our dad was unparalleled. Thank you.
A brief visitation has been arranged for Friday, 3rd November from 4pm- 7pm at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John N.B.
