Obituary of Lois Madolin Ellis
It is with heavy hearts, the family of Lois (Carvell) Ellis, wife of the late Joseph N. Ellis, announces her passing on November 4, 2023, at her residence in Shannex- Tucker Hall. Born June 18, 1933, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Gordon and Madolin T. (Christopher) Carvell.
At the young age of 23, Lois obtained her private pilot license. She worked at the Bank of Montreal, retiring as the Securities Officer. Lois’s favorite hobby was weaving, and she greatly enjoyed the company of fellow weavers.
Lois is survived by her step-son Joseph Ellis; her brother, Gordon D. Carvell; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers: Hugh, Robert, and Howard. She was also predecased by her stepson Paul Ellis.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 1PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Saint John Fresh Start Services for Women would be appreciated by the family.
