Malcolm and I are so sorry to hear of Byron's passing. We always enjoyed our chats at the coffee hour after church at Trinity. A few years ago he gave us framed black and white photos of the 2019 Freshet in Millidgeville. It is so beautiful with the reflection of the trees in the water. Our condolences to Bonnie and family. May God comfort you and grant you peace during this sad time.. God Bless.

Bonnie and family...I was saddened to hear of Byron's passing . I remember him from the post office , and, again when he and Randy were in the model train club together . After a bar-b-que at our house he asked if he could bring his camera and get some shots of the hummers that came to our feeders . He captured them well and shared his pictures with me . Later I would run into him at the Regional in his volunteer jacket, always a gentle smile and a kind word . My thoughts will be with you on the 13th . I am in BC so will be unable to attend in person . Take care .

Bonnie, Scott, Heather, Aimee and family, please accept our sincere condolences. Denise & I met Byron through the Navy. At first it was ‘sir’ and years later it was Byron. Always looking to improve the conditions for others and leaning-in / pushing when it was the right thing to do whilst others through in the towel. Always good for a quick joke, yarn or factoid on random things - his laughter and smile- he shall be missed.

Dear Bonnie and family, I am both shocked and saddened to read of Byron’s passing. It doesn’t seen so long ago we were chatting. I have such wonderful memories of our times at HMCS Brunswicker. Ernie and Byron worked on so many projects over their time in the service. My heartfelt prayers go out to you and the children. RIP dear friend. I hope wherever you, Ernie and Hodges are that you can share a cold beer.

Mrs Thomas, Scott, Heather, Aimee & Hemmings/Wilson cousins:
We are sending you our sincere condolences and prayers for strength upon the death of your Husband, Daddy, Grandfather to the grands and Cousin.
Over the years Mr Thomas attended services and events at Trinity Anglican Church where we got to know him very well. He was particularly interested in meeting newcomers from different parts of the world as they joined our congregation as well as the tourists who visited (especially during Cruiseship season). We could always count on Mr Thomas to introduce himself to the new arrivals and would hear him starting conversation asking where they are from.
We also appreciated his amazing photos - many of which are on the Trinity Church website or used as postcards in previous years with his permission. He certainly was a talented photographer. The photos will be around to cherish and remember him into the future.
Sending each of you and all those who loved Mr Thomas, our prayers with intention. May he Rest In Peace and let light perpetual shine upon him.

I remember Byron from the good old days at Portland United Church. Along with my brothers (Bob and Jim Butler) and my cousins, the Briggs. We had great times, especially in the old church on Portland street..running up the back stairs, hiding in the great big closets. But mind you we were good. When our mother and father passed away we requested Ella to sing at their funerals, she was a beautiful singer. Condolences to the families. Lorraine Butler Holder.

Bonnie, Scott, Heather, Aimee and family Please accept our profound condolences at this time. I first met Byron back in 1973 when I joined RCSCC Rodney #9 at the age of 12. Byron was the CO, we then went onto serve together in HMCS BRUNSWICKER for the next 30 plus years. We managed to remain friends and shared many exploits. Byron could always be counted on to lighten the mood, share an easy solution to a problem and leave us with a laugh in the process. Rest assured he made our world a better place and will be dearly missed. May you take comfort knowing we share in your loss and strength from our prayers.
Sincerely,
Paul and Rena Smith
