Celebration of Life
Obituary of Georgina Ellen Hayward
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our mother, Georgina Ellen (Summerville) Hayward, on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at her home in Saint John. Born March 1, 1941, in Saint John, she was the only daughter of the late Medley and Madeline (Neal) Summerville.
Georgina enjoyed knitting, quilting, and gardening. She enjoyed visits with her cat, Angie, in the evenings, and had a soft spot for Winnie the Pooh.
Georgina is survived by her children: Melodee Sherriff (John), Harold (Cindy), and Donald (Frances Glen-Hayward); grandchildren: Justin Sherriff (Rebecca Bowland), Jeremy Sherriff, Jonathan Sherriff, Sarah Hayward, Lily Hayward, and Maisie Hayward; great-grandchildren, Avery Craft and Jackson Bowland; several cousins, and her cat, Angie.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). In keeping with Georgina’s wishes, there will be no visitation, but a Celebration of Life will be held at 821 Manawagonish Road, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. A private family interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com.
