Obituary of Carol Diane Powers
It is with heavy hearts the family of Carol Diane Powers (Ritchie), announce her passing on Monday, November 6th, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side.
Born on September 10, 1948, in Saint John, N.B., Carol is predeceased by her mother, Grace Ritchie (Rogerson), father, Elmer Ritchie, her sister Kathy Vincent, and husband, Gordon Bass.
She is survived by her beloved son, Richard Powers and daughter-in-law, Gisele Hachey. Her treasured grandchildren, Amanda Hachey (Rob Hicks), Robbie Hachey (Adena Andrews). Brother-in-law, Peter Vincent, Niece, Sarah (Justin) McManus, Nephew, Bradley (Kristy) Vincent, and several great nieces and nephews. Carol was also excited for her first Great Grandchild "Baby Hicks", late November 2023.
She graduated from Simonds High School and retired from NBTel. She was a life member of Jervis Bay Branch #53 Ladies Auxiliary Legion, and sales representative for Avon.
Carol loved her family, dogs, and cats. She enjoyed Bowling, Bingo, and the Choir. She cherished her "Coffee Club" and "Card Club" ladies. She admired being at the rink for Figure Skating and Hockey. She also treasured her camp at Hunter Lake, and trailer at Island View.
A wholehearted thanks to Gisele Hachey for the love, care, and compassion she provided for Carol over the years. We are comforted to know she is at peace.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). There will be no visitation or service. Donations in memory of Carol may be made to Red Head Strays.
