Obituary of Dorothy Eileen Jackson
Dorothy Eileen Jackson passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 28, 2023, at the age of 99 years.
She was born in Saint John; the daughter of the late Roy H and Sadie (Kelly) Jackson.
Dorothy was employed with Furness Withy Steamships and Furnace Marine for 47 years before her retirement.
She was a life-long member of Trinity Anglican Church where she served on the Altar and Chancel Guilds.
She was a volunteer at both the Saint John General and Regional Hospitals and North End Food Bank.
She enjoyed spending time at her summer home at Morna for many years.
She is survived by two nephews David Burke (Susan) and Douglas Burke (Janice); two great nephews Christopher Burke (Heidi) and Timothy Burke (Sandra); three great nieces Heather Burke, Stephanie Burke and Rebecca Lang (Benno), one great-great nephew Brayden Burke and three great-great nieces Lilia Burke, Vienna Lang and Ava Lang.
She was predeceased by her parents, her infant brother Ronald, her sister Constance Burke and her brother-in-law Wallace Burke.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). At Dorothy’s request, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held from Trinity Anglican Church, 115 Charlotte Street, Saint John at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, with the Rev. Steven G. Scribner officiating. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Trinity Church. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
