Obituary of Raymond Laurie Goguen
It is with profound sadness that the family of Raymond Goguen announces his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Bobby’s Hospice. He was born on November 1, 1948, in Saint John, NB to the late Andrew and Rosalie (Gallant).
He leaves to mourn his wife of 52 years, Julie (Dignard) Goguen; his daughter, Jamie Goguen (Sean), their children Adrian and Brookelynn; son, Adam Goguen (Jennifer), their children Nolan and Vivian; and his sister, Bernice Goguen.
Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his brothers: Roger, Paul, and Donald.
Raymond was employed at Ocean Steel as a Welder for 43 years. His hobbies were long walks, crossword puzzles, he was an avid reader, loved music, and had a passion for thrifting and yard sales. He had a special love for his grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Reiman, Dr. Mackin, Dr. Chris O’Brien, Dr. Sealy, Dr. Doiron, Dr. Leroux, the entire nursing staff and other doctors who helped to care for Raymond on 4BS, 5AS, and Bobby’s Hospice throughout his illness. You were a good team. Thank you for all your kindness and support shown- you are all angels.
Raymond is resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Monday, December 4, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:10 pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice or St. Vincent du Paul would be appreciated by the family. Canned goods or personal hygiene products can be brought to the Cathedral the day of the funeral mass, or monetary donations and condolences may be made through the funeral home, or by leaving a message on Raymond’s guestbook at www.BrenansFH.com.
