Roland Morais

Obituary of Roland Joseph Morais

With heavy hearts, the family of Roland Morais announces his passing on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at his residence, following a period of failing health. Born September 9, 1956, in Tracadie, he was the first-born, and probably the favourite child, of Anne (Sivret) and the late Clement Morais.

Roland was a big baseball fanatic, always rooting for his Blue Jays. He also enjoyed watching the Montreal Canadiens. Roland was one of a kind- he had a brain that absorbed information like a sponge, which made playing Trivial Pursuit with him not so much fun as he seemingly knew the answer to every question in the box! He loved all animals, especially his cats, and his love of music was evident in that he always had the best stereos and record collection. He kept to himself, but was always willing to help family with anything they needed. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved mother, Anne “Lil”, Roland is survived by his siblings: Mario, Doris, Johnny, Monica, Jo-Anne, and Wanda; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). In keeping with Roland’s wishes, interment will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Holy Cross Cemetery, with the procession leaving Brenan’s at 2 pm. For those who wish, remembrances to Saint John SPCA- Animal Rescue would be appreciated by the family.
