Thinking about Jane and the Gresh family right now. I’m sorry for this unbelievable loss. I remember Dave teaching me some of my first songs on the guitar and how to fly fish during our summer trips to New Brunswick growing up. He was a wonderful family man with a great sense of humour! He always took time to make sure everyone felt included. He will be truly missed.

To Jane and Family- I am in shock today to only learn of Dave's unexpected recent passing! Yours and Dave's life had so many alike features that Tom and I shared with our growing family these past twenty plus years or more. Dave's exuberance was so evident when he spoke of his children and what magical times the family had together! But where we really bonded more than just being his Accountant clients, was when the grandchildren arrived and he was so happy to share the pride he had for each one of them!! We laughed about many events and instances we had similar with watching our grandkids grow! Tom was one of Dave's first clients he told me and they both came from the USA to enjoy such beautiful resources here in Canada, maybe being their special bond? Dave was such a brilliant but humble person too just like my Tom and didn't feel the need to put on any special airs as he was so comfortable in his own skin- with his many special passions- including Gordon Lightfoot's top Fan! I would like to send my deepest condolences to all of the Gresh Family- as we loved Dave too and thank you for sharing him with us his appreciative lifetime clients! HUGS to you Jane!! Cherish all the special memories you created together since meeting each other!

Jane I was so sad to read this today. I have been out of town the last two weeks and just returned. I know I did not know David long but I think we had a unique little bond with the mediterranean cruise he and Donna were on in 72. I was so happy to be able to share Donna's travel book with him. Now they can cruise together and relive all those special moments they enjoyed so long ago.
Stay strong girl. Wayne Salter.

Jane and Family….Our deepest condolences on Dave’s passing. He was a wonderful, warm, friendly guy who always had time for conversation. I last spoke to David in January. He was feeling better, back at work but “not working crazy hours”, and keen to provide important help with my mother’s estate. As always he was professional and thorough in his guidance.…..I was fortunate to have been in Rothesay last fall, to have attended the Tennis Club dinner, and to have seen Nick recognized. That led to conversation with David, about the strength of the junior program and the many positive changes in the club. David was very much the proud father. I’ve been fortunate to see Dave over successive summers wandering down to the beach in Rothesay Park accompanied by dogs and grandkids. He would often stop and chat. He shared the joy of Vieques, the puffins around Grand Manan, his Wimbledon trip, and his many fishing expeditions, as well as lots of family news…..David had an easy manner, a dry sense of humor, and a nice way about himself. He died too young. We’ll miss him.

My condolences to Jane and the family. Dave was a wonderful person and always had a kind word for me (us) when I would see him every five years when the RCS class of '72 would assemble in Rothesay for our reunions. Dave and I had occasion to work in Bathurst one summer almost 50 years ago, 1974. We worked at different locations doing shift work but still found some time for socializing! I'd forgotten how involved Dave was in tennis and am now wondering if we may have met in the N.B. Junior tennis tournament in 1965. The tournament was held in Rothesay that year at the Rothesay Tennis Club, RCS tennis courts and Netherwood tennis courts. I had travelled by bus from Grand Bay each day to participate and can still remember someone at the Rothesay Tennis Club blasting "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" on their transistor radio each day. There were new tennis balls to use too! First class....just like Dave.

Dear beautiful Janie and kids. Our hearts break for your loss. I just wish I could be there right now to give you a special Drum bear-hug.
I just sent this picture I have on my wall, (from one of many past reunion walks to the Dam), to Miller and Richardson remembering yet another fun time we played with you and Dave. I so cherish the many, many moments we’ve shared together with you and those gorgeous kids of yours. I always reveled in the grounded LOVE that was and is a perennial mainstay in your home.
I remember playing lots of tennis with Dave at RCS too and loved sliding for one of his pasky shots on those lovely clay courts …and I remember Dave had the audacity to actually beat Tyler and I in the final for our year. :( … I always did admire that tenacious competitor in him. lol
I loved spending time with you and Dave and a delight to be in your home with squeals from kids having fun. It was always special to have you join our class reunion dinners each year too! .. and you know you will invited and welcome for ever.
Davie’s adorably quirky ways and huge heart will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Karen and I send you and the kids our sincere condolences and HUGE virtual hugs of comfort.
With Tons of Love
Drum xoxo

I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. We were tennis and fishing partners for most of my early life. We played at Rothesay tennis club and competed around the province and maritimes at countless tournaments and had great times with our travels and many victories. Dave was very competitive and more skilled than I, but we made a great team over our junior years.
We spent many great trips fishing at Moss Glen, Dicks Lake and then on to salmon fishing at many locations around the province including our Thistle Club on the Little Southwest, the Miramichi Fish and Game club and multiple other sites with buddies Jake and Andrew Lemesurier, David Bewick, and many more. I have great memories of spending many evenings at the fishing camps and all the fun we had playing card games and just carrying on.
Since moving to the US, I tried to see Dave on each visit back home to NB and was always impressed with his continued enthusiasm for tennis and love and pride for his wife Jane and his children and their families.
He will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family. I wish the best to all.

Brennan and I have so many wonderful memories of you and David through these many years of being friends. We remember the births of your children especially Lizzie’s when we went on a picnic to Moss Glenn to fish and returned to Rothesay and stayed with you that night as you thought you were going into labour. Fortunately for us you didn’t as we were a bit in awe about how we would look after your other 3 while you were at the hospital! You two always made parenting so many look easy!
We remember the many picnics at New River Beach and the friends and family we camped out there with!
We remember the many dinner parties at your house and ours and our mutual friends Kate and Bill who all loved to have fun and enjoy good food!
We remember the ballet shows and other childhood ceremonies we attended, especially my goddaughter Gillian, as your children grew into adulthood.
But most of all we remember you and Dave’s generous spirit sharing your family times and entertaining us with incredible meals and friendship.
Please know, although we are far away right now , you and your family are close in our thoughts and hearts.
Much love and hugs,

My heartfelt condolences to Dave's immediate family and all those who are feeling his loss.
As a classmate of Dave's at RCS we faced common experiences with our fellow classmates. Those teenage years at RCS/RNS were an intensified microcosm of life that shaped us all. It had the unexpected side effect of allowing easy reconnection whenever we meet. I now think of this as the Class of 73 family and Dave had a lot to do with the transformation. His enthusiasm for the RNS experience made him a cornerstone in nurturing this family. We were all heading our separate ways, but he kept in touch and reminded us of where we came from. And he pestered us to show up at reunions, which ended up welding us into a unique, but real, family that continues to build pleasant shared experiences.
Thank you Dave for giving us all a richer life. I would have missed out on this opportunity if you had not pestered me into showing up.
I am very glad Dave shouldered this role and I am sure we will all miss Dave's enthusiasm for the RNS family. However that pillar of the family doesn't disappear just because Dave is no longer with us in person, he and what he stood for will live on in our memories and the stories that will be told will never get old. We will see to it that Dave's pillar in our family fabric will continue to stand, firmly welded in place.

My sincere condolences to Jane, Nick, Sara, Gilly, Lizzy and the entire family. Dave was an incredible father and a role model for what was important in life. I loved his smile and never ending kindness. His ability to make everyone feel loved and valued was endearing and inspiring. He will be missed dearly. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.

Dave did an amazing job at making you always feel important and you knew he cared no matter how often he saw you. I will miss seeing him at soccer with the kids. I can imagine he had a similar impact on many people. Thinking of you all and know his magic lives in you because I see it when I look at the Gresh family xoxoxo

Jane and family, it was my honour to work with and get to know Dave more over the last few years. It was clear how much he treasured and loved all of you. He will be missed both personally and professionally. He took pride in his work and servicing his clients. Brian and I send our sincere condolences.

Dear Jane and family. Although we didn’t spend a lot of time with Dave, when we did he was always so kind and caring. From stories I hear from Lizzy and our grand daughters, I know he was an amazing dad and grand dad. His life on this earth was certainly too short. I know you and your kids and the precious grandchildren will miss him immensely. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this very sad time. Sending you lots of love, Jim and Carolyn
