Obituary of Christopher John Allan Clayton

With broken hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Chris Clayton on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Born January 6, 1979, he was the eldest son of Joanne (Clark) and the late Tim Clayton, and brother to Jeff and Josh.

Chris was currently employed with Irving Energy, since his return home to Saint John. Prior to that, he lived in Calgary for several years, where he enjoyed the Rocky Mountains and the adventures they brought him with his brothers and friends. He was more than excited to have his San Francisco 49ers play in this year’s Super Bowl, and was also a huge fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs, as well as The Trailer Park Boys. He also had a soft side that could easily be seen if there was a cat in his presence, especially his buddies, Roscoe and OJ.

In addition to his loving mother, Joanne, and brothers, Jeff and Josh, Chris is survived by his aunt, Mare Amero (Robin), with whom he shared a special bond, as well as many other aunts and uncles he adored throughout his life; he grew up closely with cousins Amanda Clark and Melissa Clark and is survived by their families, as well as several other cousins; and many friends, including special friends: Brad McKenzie, Mike Goguen, Gary Collins, Chris Adams, and Caleb Merzetti. He will be forever loved and missed.

Besides his father, Tim, Chris was predeceased by his grandparents, and his favourite kitties, Gus and Whiskers.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), where visiting will take place on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 2 pm from Brenan’s Chapel.
