Obituary of Nancy Beatrice Buckley
It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Nancy Beatrice Buckley (Glenn), on March 27, 2024, at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Home. Mom was born on June 12, 1941, in the town of Chipman NB.
In her younger days she was a waitress both in Montreal and Saint John and then after she was married and us kids were all in school, she went to work at the Telegraph Journal in Saint John for many years. Mom showed her commitment to her family by making the Big House a home by decorating, wallpapering, and painting. And when not at home, she could be found at the hootenanny dancing.
She is survived by us, her three daughters: Gail Carr (Craig), Christy Buckley, and Wanda Buckley (Peter). As well as her grandchildren: Joey Carr, Kyle Carr, Danielle Buckley, Emma Gibson, and Jack Gibson. Her only surviving sister, Ruby Mott (Glenn); her sister-in-law Shirley Glenn and brother-in-law Victor Capozzi. As well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Stuart Buckley; grandson Christopher Carr; parents David and Beatrice Glenn (Fulton); brothers and sisters, Maudie, Mary, Matt, Betty, Hazel, Joe, Wanetta, Linda, and Connie.
We would like to extend our profound gratitude to all those at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Home for their outstanding care and affection given to our mom. With special thanks to Ryan for being there for Mom and supporting us during one of our most difficult days of saying goodbye.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). A celebration of Mom’s life will take place at a later date in the spring in her hometown of Chipman, NB. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Alzheimer’s Society.
