Obituary of Norman Holtzman

It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Norman Holtzman, husband of Janet (Newman), announce his passing on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Turnbull Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 31, 1943, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Harry and Anne (Freedman) Holtzman. Norman was well known in the city for his fine furniture stores. As a local businessman, owned Holtzman’s Furniture, and then Simply Furniture, providing wonderful service for many years until his retirement.

Besides his wife, Norman is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Nancy Byrne) of Saint John and Wayne (Mona Fruchter) of Toronto, sister, The Hon. Myra Freeman (Larry) of Halifax; grandchildren, Carter, Matthew and Isaac.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 1 PM at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Shaarei Zedek Cemetery, Saint John.
