Obituary of Jane Pearl McKay
McKAY, Jane Pearl (nee Trecartin) - Passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 88. Jane was born on February 27, 1936, in Saint John, New Brunswick, to the late George and Pearl Trecartin.
She is survived by her beloved husband Gordon, her loving sister Marion, and her devoted son Lawrence McKay (Gina). Jane will be forever remembered by son-in-law Tony McDevitt, her grandchildren Tanner McDevitt (Renaye) and Samantha McDevitt-Sawler (Gordie), and her cherished great-grandchildren Deklan, Myers, Anthony, and Brea. She was predeceased by her daughters Baby Jane and Brenda McDevitt and her four brothers.
With a quiet grace and a heart full of love, Jane’s greatest joy came from the simple pleasures of spending time with her family. She was a gentle soul, with a love for golf, gardening, and birdwatching. She and Gord spent many happy summers at their camp on Washademoak Lake and later the Pinecone Campground. She shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with Gordon, creating countless memories together.
The family would like to extend an special thanks to the staff of 4B North and Shannex Concorde Hall for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Jane and family during this difficult time.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Visitation will occur on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a Memorial Service on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 11:00 am. A private internment will follow. Jane loved flowers! Donations in her honour can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice. Jane will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
