Mass of Christian Burial
Obituary of Elizabeth Mary Allan
We celebrate a life well lived, but it is with great sadness that the family of Betty Allan announce her peaceful passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Thursday, April 4, 2024. Born June 27, 1933, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Kathleen (Shaw) Snodgrass. Betty and her family moved to Ontario in 1968, where she began her career with Bell Canada until her retirement in the early 90s. She enjoyed her retirement and spent many hours caring for her grandsons Brian and Aaron as well as becoming an active volunteer with the Bell Pioneers. She proudly served as President of the Pioneers for several years and in the usual “Betty” style, made many new friends.
Betty is survived by her children: daughter, Donna Marie Rose (Raymond) and son, Gregory Kincaide (Joanne); her sister, Jean Marino, step-sons: Mark Allan (Donna), David Allan (Sherry), Stephen Allan (Dorothy-Ann) and John Allan
(Patti); her grandchildren, Brian, Aaron, Kristen, Kerri-Ann, Stephanie, Ashley, Thomas, Greg, Rachel, Jillian and Rebekah and several great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her first husband, Gregory Kincaide; second husband, Ronald Allan; her sister, Frances Fournier; and brothers, Gerald, Bobby, and Bill Snodgrass.
The family sends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of 5C North at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their kindness in caring for Betty during this time. We would be remiss in not thanking her many friends at The Meadows on Gondola Point Road for all the love, kindness and support they gave to Betty while she lived there. All who knew Betty knew how much she enjoyed living in her apartment there and how much she loved her balcony!
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on the 10th day of April, 2024, at 11 a.m. Betty will find her final resting place with her first husband and the love of her life, Gregory Harold Kincaide in Ontario at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Saint John SPCA would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com.
