Obituary of Thomas Gionet
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend Thomas "Tom" Gionet.
After a brief battle with cancer, Tom passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 6th, 2024.
Tom grew up in Saint John, where at an early age he developed a passion for cars and transformed it into a thriving business. It is also in Saint John where he met his best friend and the love of his life, Lyne. Together they raised a beautiful family and built the home of their dreams.
Tom loved boating, casting his line in the Nerepis, unwinding with his Fish and Brew family after work, and strumming a country song on his guitar for friends.
May we honor his memory by embracing life's adventures, extending kindness to others, and living each day to the fullest, just as he did.
In addition to his loving wife, Lyne (Coulombe), Tom is survived by his parents, Cecelia (Daigle) and Aldoria Joseph “Joe” Gionet; his beautiful daughters: Crystal Sanders (Kevin) and her children Hope and Makayla, Brittany Teale (Arthur) and her stepchildren Owen, Emma, and Ben, and Tami Marr (Josiah) and her children Arella and Samson; as well as his sister, Bonnie Dempster (Dale); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), where visiting will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 1 to 4 pm, at which time a brief celebration of Tom’s life will be held in Brenan’s Chapel. Those unable to attend will be able to view a livestream of the service by clicking on “View Funeral Livestream” on Tom’s online obituary. The celebration will continue at Fish and Brews Pub, 800 Fairville Boulevard from 6 to 8 pm.
For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com.
