Obituary of Brenda Tipling
Brenda Tipling – October 9, 1941 – April 5, 2024
It is with sadness the family of Brenda share the news of her passing, surrounded by family, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 5th.
Brenda was born in Appleton Roebuck, York, England, the daughter of Edward & Doris Fish. She married the love of her life, Alan Tipling, in September 1961 and they enjoyed 59 years together before Alan passed in 2020. As the mining industry in England collapsed, Alan and Brenda made the bold move to bring their young family to Canada in search of a better life. The five of them arrived via Gander, Newfoundland in 1975 and settled in Lepreau, New
Brunswick to begin a new life. Over the years Brenda worked as a bookkeeper for Rocca Construction, Connors Brothers, and Freedom Travel.
Brenda was an active leader with the Girl Guides of Canada and was always in the audience supporting her children’s and grandchildren’s sports and activities. Brenda loved being creative and making things for others to enjoy, especially knitting and cardmaking. She was always happy to teach others how to be creative or give advice. Brenda loved to walk on the beach and spend time with her family.
Brenda is survived by her sister Gillian Thompson (Bob) of Yorkshire, England, daughter Nicky Scott (Kevin) of Hampton, son Andrew Tipling (Judy) of Lepreau, daughter Alison Tipling (Lindsay Bolan) of St. Stephen, grandchildren Tony and Justin Seelye, Michael and Nicholas Tipling, Chandler, Colton, Carter, and Shelby Scott, and great-grandsons Nixon and Orion. Brenda was predeceased by her beloved husband Alan Tipling, her sister Reita Baird, and her parents.
Brenda’s family would like to thank the staff of the Passamaquoddy Lodge who were like an extended family to Brenda.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, where visitation will be held on Friday, April 12th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
