Marion had many first cousins, and my late father, Lloyd Fullerton, was one of them.
I remember Marion from when I was small. She came to visit us one day, and it was just about the time I was starting to wonder "what will I be when I grow up?".
I asked her all about her work and she told me about the guinea pigs. I asked her what happened to them and she said "they died". I asked if the ALL died, and she said they did. I was an animal lover then and now and I was disconsolate about it. She told me she would bring me two guinea pigs the next day at lunch time, and I could save their lives.
As promised, the next day at lunch time, she arrived with two plump, shiny coated guinea pigs in a cardboard box. One was mostly black and the other mostly orange so I promptly named them "Pepper" and "Pumpkin". They spent their lives on Millidge Avenue and were very good friends with my rabbits. Unlike rabbits, guinea pigs are very vocal. It took a bit of time for us all to get used to that, especially the rabbits, I would imagine.
Marion attended many family events over the years, and the last one was my late mother's 90th birthday party on June 8, 2019.
My condolences to Marion's sister, Thelma and her beloved nephews, Estey and Mark of whom she was so proud, and who were so good to her, all her life, but especially in her later years.
