Betty Sabean

Obituary of Betty Pauline Sabean

Betty Pauline (Limkilde) Sabean, beloved wife of Vernon Lawrence Sabean, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on June 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Louis Hansen Limkilde and Georgina Emiline Knox.

Betty dedicated her life to her family. She and Vernon shared 64 years of marriage, during which Betty lovingly cared for her husband and two children, Tim and Pam. Her love and support extended to her many grandchildren, who will miss her greatly.

Betty's partnership with Vernon extended beyond the bounds of their home as they worked together at the Elgin House Resort in Muskoka Lake as well as in building Vern’s Bakery. In their leisure time, Betty and Vernon found joy in attending antique car shows, forging lasting friendships along the way. They also spent much time at their country place, on the beach and rowing their boat in Martinon at Vairs Beach.

Betty leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, forever remembered by her son, Tim (Doris) Sabean of Moncton, New Brunswick, her daughter Pam (Doug) Godsoe of Texas/California, grandchildren Greg Sabean, Natalie Sabean, Ryan (Stephanie) Sabean, Charlie Godsoe, Victoria Godsoe, and Allan (Hannah) Godsoe, and great-grandchildren Nicolas, Hayden, Alexandria, Mason, Benjamin, Hudson, James, and the eagerly awaited William (due August 2024). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her kindness and warmth.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424), on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 11:30AM-12:30PM. Betty will be laid to rest in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Canadian Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice in Betty’s memory. Condolences and memories may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com, where her legacy will continue to be honoured.
