Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Cole
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Margaret Elizabeth Cole announce her passing on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Bobby’s Hospice, surrounded by her pride and joy. Born February 21, 1952, in Sussex, NB, she was a daughter of the late Bliss and Eileen (Warner) Cole.
Marg was known for her vivacious personality that made everyone feel welcome. During her illness, the overwhelming support and care gave her a sense of purpose and drive. Over the last three months, she was grateful for every kind gesture provided to her. Marg’s humour carried her through this journey, impacting everyone she met. She displayed a level of kindness that was recognized as soon as you met her. Her children and grandchildren were her prized possessions. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Fr. Weir, who visited her regularly until her final moments.
Margaret is survived by her children: Kristine McEachern (Dereck), Tom VanWart (Ashley), Michael VanWart (Amanda), and Kate Osborne (Peter); precious grandchildren: Moira, Riley, Amalia, Cole, Charlotte, Chase, Reagan, and Wyatt; brother, Phil Cole (Karen); sisters, Kathy Whittle (George) and Anne Thompson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David Cole (Ann) and her special companion, Snowball.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). At Marg’s request, there will not be a time of visitation. A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11 am from Brenan’s Chapel with a reception to follow in Brenan’s Reception Centre. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
