Obituary of Gordon Clarence White
It’s with heavy hearts that the family of Gordon “Butch” Clarence White announces his sudden passing which occurred on June 10, 2024, in Saint John, New Brunswick. Born on November 25, 1940, in Saint John, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Fredrick and Doris (Noiles) White.
Butch was a fan of sports, music, cars, gameshows and especially horse racing. Over the years Butch purchased horses to run in races and made a point to go every week to cheer them on. He shared this love of horse racing with his sons as a bonding experience and carried that on as a weekly tradition with them. His musical idol was Elvis Presley, loving any song the singer produced, and his love of cars was not limited to one but many, as Butch loved and owned any car that would pique his interest. He was a hard-working man and for his entire working career Butch worked as a Long Shoreman for the Local 273, retiring at the age of 65. At the end of the day if Butch wasn’t working, looking for the next new car, or racing horses, he could be found with a cold drink in hand, his feet up and a game show playing in the background.
Butch will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Gordon White (Natalie) and Robert White; grandson Gordon Lambert; sister Lorraine Sullivan (Gerry); along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Butch was predeceased by his brothers, Fred White, Melvin White, and Bruce White.
