Obituary of Sue Harrison
August 20, 1943 - June 14, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Susan “Sue” Elizabeth Harrison announce her unexpected passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by loving family.
Sue was pre-deceased by her parents Norton and Kathaleen (Boutilier) Lebans and her parents-in-law Arthur and Thelma (Spence) Harrison.
She left behind her husband of 57 years Richard “Dick” Harrison, son John (Elizabeth) Harrison of Kingston, NB, daughter Heather (Doug) Finkle of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, grandchildren Gregor, Sarah, Colin and Ben, sister Faye (David) Huestis and several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Sue graduated from the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. She worked as a Registered Nurse for one year in Toronto before returning to Saint John where she worked at the Saint John General Hospital, Olsten’s and Saint John Regional Hospital. She especially enjoyed her work in the neonatal unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Sue and Dick lived on the west side their whole marriage.
She was a bonding force, and words cannot express how much she will be missed by her friends and family. She enjoyed playing bridge with her close group of friends, entertaining, socializing and enjoying time spent with her family.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A Memorial Service will be held from St. Mark’s United Church (50 Dexter Drive) on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Those unable to attend are welcome to view the service from the St. Mark’s United Facebook Page. In lieu of flowers. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
