I’m a cousin of Sylvia’s and I'm saddened to hear of her passing, she was a wonderful lady so kind and thoughtful. We always looked forward to her visits when she came home for the weekend. One of my fondest memories is of Christmas morning and her coming across the field for a visit and always with a gift.
My brothers Royce and Eldon and I had the pleasure of visiting with her in September. Many fond memories were shared and I'm very grateful for that. Over the years Lawrence would bring her up to Eldon's when we had a family gathering. I’m sorry I can’t be there for her funeral as we are in Ontario.
Rest in Peace ,dear Sylvia.

Dear Family,
I recently saw Sylvia while I was visiting my mother-in-law at Turnbull Home. After all of the years since I had seen her, she remembered me from my Nursing days at St Joseph’s Hospital.
I remember feeling happy when Sylvia would arrive to see one of my patients. She was so kind and very competent, always professional.
I will keep you in my thoughts. I feel blessed to have known her.

Sylvia was a true example of a person that not only believed in her faith ,but lived her faith every day. Sylvia (or as we called her "Hayes" at St.Joe's) was a true joy to work with, to talk with and to have known. A very quite reserved 'lady' who kept her own council . I never once heard her mutter a bad word about any one in all the years working with her . But when asked her opinion regarding a situation, her wise and straight to the point answer was always worth listening to. Rest in peace dear lady, your time has come to be rewarded for all your hard work and kindness! My condolences to Hayes' family. Sharon Savoie

I have known Sylvia casually for about 10 years through Zoomers and Adelaide Fernandez. She is 15 years my senior so I knew her plight as a single woman living alone could be daunting. I tried to help her find a new place to live and got her in touch with Connections NB to get some home support services. When she got sick and had to move to Turnbull Home I took her out on the occasional day trip. She wanted to shop at Walmart. To buy her own brand of tea and pick up fresh pears and the treats of her choice. Then we would sit down for a McDonald’s burger combo and a chat. An intelligent, say it as you see it kind of woman; we enjoyed each others company. After a small spending spree at the Dollar Store she was content to go home. I am deeply saddened by her loss.
