Karen Jane McGowan (nee Hussey), 64, of Dieppe, NB, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born in Oromocto, NB on June 14, 1960.
She was an incredibly hard worker all of her life and enjoyed helping people. Karen earned her nursing degree from the Saint John School of Nursing in 1980.
Karen was an avid nature lover. She had a strong love for flowers, hummingbirds and butterflies. She was strong-willed, family oriented and loved her pets. She also loved listening to music and watching game shows. Karen loved wholeheartedly and always had a shoulder to lean on.
Karen was married to Brian McGowan on May 9, 1981 and they were married for 43 years.
In addition to her loving husband, Brian, Karen is survived by her children, Matthew, Sara and Mitchell and sister, Charmaine (Hussey); brother-in-law, Rev. Dr. Michael McGowan and sisters-in-law, Karen Wedge (Peter) and Sandra McGowan (Laurie). Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Hussey (nee Swan) (2011) and father, Harold Hussey (2014).
She will be dearly missed by us all, especially by her best friend, Dianne Bonner.
