My Uncle Lea He commanded a room when he entered, in a gentle way for he was larger than life literally and figuratively. His love for cars was surpassed only by the love of his family, and oh he loved them so. Especially his wife, the one and only Auntie Joycelyn, as they were soulmates and best friends, an unbreakable bond that will no doubt transcend his passing. He was the OG DJ ( move over Tiësto- I googled you and you wouldn’t stand a CHANCE against the subtle mad mixes of Uncle Lea- he could really read a crowd). I can still hear him say “JoJo” in his deep velvety voice, the kind of voice that made Chef from South Park sound like Mickey Mouse. His son was his namesake in many ways as Huey was and is truly tall, dark and handsome just like his Dad. Uncle Lea had style, like only a Caribbean Physician of the Kennebecasis who birthed the greater 506 could- and that was some SERIOUS SWAGGER. I will miss you so much Uncle Lea. You were the GOAT (Gyno-OB-Ameritus of the mari-Times ). I will always remember how you tickled us as kids relentlessly as we gasped for air. You were my uncle, you were my friend, you were truly amazing. Your legacy will live on through your beautiful and brilliant grandchildren- they were so very blessed to have you as their Pappa, for Uncle Lea was unequivocally a Lord.

I used to tease him saying, " we spent many nights together". His kindness, gentleness and knowledge were unparalleled. Always a gentleman no matter what was happening. Yes, he delivered my three children but I so cherished my friendship with him. He was above all, the doctor I most respected in my nursing career of 53 years. Whenever I met up with him, I was blessed with his beautiful smile and a warm hug!! What a gift he was to all he knew with his compassion and caring!! My heartfelt sadness and love goes to Dr Lord's family and friends of whom I counted myself one. We have known each other since 1980, when I won the Golden Ticket and was referred to him for the care of me and my pregnancy. He was warm, kind, patient and so comforting with each meeting including our last encounter almost 5 years ago, when I was on the other end of the guerney, He asked about my boy at every visit over the past years I was his nurse, He was the best physician, and I will never forget his kindness and grace. So sorry for your loss. Dr. Lord delivered all 3 of my sons. He was so gentle and soft spoken. He was so kind to me when my first son died 6 weeks after birth f4om crib death. When I went in for check up he had nurse put me in his office so I did not have to sit in waiting with other new mothers and their babies. He spent time talking to me and helping me with my loss. He was a wonderful man and a great doctor full of compassion.He was one of a kind and I will always remember his kindness.

Dr. Lord was my doctor for both of my children but only delivered my daughter. After she was born and he was stitching me up, I asked him how many stitches I was getting. He shook his head and said, "Why do women always want to know that?" I replied, " War stories, Doc!" He smiled. When he was done, he asked if he could sit for a moment and hold my daughter . He said he had to deliver twins shortly but he rarely got a chance to hold the babies he delivered. So we sat and admired my firstborn together. Such a lovely moment. R.I.P., Dr. Lord. I was the first Baby Dr. Lord delivered . He told me this when he was my doctor when I was pregnant for my son . He said he'd never forget cause I was nothing but trouble . Unfortunately my son was also trouble and ended in an emergency C section before Dr.Lord got there . He was disappointed he didn't get to deliver his first baby's baby but when trouble runs in family there's not much you can do he said ..lol he was the best Doctor, and a kind and funny man . My sympathy to Dr Lord's family. He brought all three of my children into this world and I also had the pleasure of meeting his wife in the office on my multiple appointments. I was out shopping when my twins were very little as they were born in Dec. I met him in the department store and with his great smile and genuine interest in seeing us he stopped to say hello. " I don't often get to see the babies after they are born" he said. We chatted for a bit and went our separate ways. Such a pleasant, mild mannered doctor who truly brought so much joy to so many!
