Obituary of Victor Herbert Hawkins

It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Herbert Hawkins announces his passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, September 30, 2024. Born October 17, 1936, in Oak Bay, NB he was a son of the late Frank and Helen Hawkins.

Victor spent 34 years with the Saint John Police Force before retiring. He then went on to work as a dock inspector in Chance Harbour. Victor enjoyed spending summers with friends and family at his log cabin in Waweig where he loved to canoe, fish and sit on his deck. He was very proud of the cabin him and Frank built. In recent years, Victor and Natasha travelled on bus tours around the Maritimes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Victor leaves behind his daughter, Natasha (Tim); siblings, Frank (Sandra) and Rose; grandson, Craig; special nephews, Paul and Kevin; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Victor was predeceased by his son, Thane; daughter, Sherry; infant-son, Victor; brothers, David, John, Art; sister, Betty.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Donations in memory of Victor may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada.
