Obituary of Robert Wayne Kennedy

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Wayne Kennedy announces his passing which occurred on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Toronto, Ontario on August 5, 1959, he was a son of the late Edward and Marilyn (Boyd) Kennedy.

Robert was a devoted family man and avid Toronto sports fan, he cherished every moment with his family and grandchildren, and he’d never missed a Leafs, Jays, or Raptors game. His love, laughter, and loyalty will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Darlene Wentzell; son, Andrew Kennedy (Melissa Goguen); daughters, Sara Kennedy, Stephanie Wentzell (Trampus Bowmaster), Beth Buntain (Matthew); brother, Anthony Kennedy (Bud Clark); grandchildren, Zachariah Kennedy, Jessie-Jane Kennedy, Shea Kennedy, Isaiah Clements, Olivia Clements, Owen Comeau, Lucas Comeau, Manaya Buntain, Holden Buntain; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his son-in-law, Isaac Clements.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A private family interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Robert may be made to the SPCA of Saint John.
