Obituary of Geraldine Graves
It is with great sadness that the family of Geraldine M. (Basque) Graves announces her passing which occurred on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, on August 4, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Hormisdas and Bertha (Pinet) Basque.
Geraldine was luminous, a bright light for all that knew her. Her love and adoration for Jesus radiated through her spirit. She was the matriarch of her family who she loved immensely. She spent many evenings chasing sunsets at local beaches. She was a talented artist who loved to paint, she loved photography, loved to travel and she loved to worship to her Christian music. She loved flowers and nature, and her favourite season was fall. Holidays were special times; her baking was the best & memories of family game nights with dice and 18 will carry on forever. She was meant to live in the Victorian era, as she had an old fashion soul and loved anything lace and vintage. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She saw the goodness in everyone and always led by the example of Jesus.
Geraldine leaves behind her children, Robert Graves (Cherry) and Liza Doucette (Chris); brothers, Donald Basque, Yvone Basque (Cathy), Stanley Basque (Bette); sisters, Theresa Gilks, Odette McGrath (Tim), Noella McPhee; grandchildren, Adena Andrews (Rob), Dominque Graves (Tyler), Christopher Doucette, Mya Graves, Brianna Doucette, Noah Doucette; great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Weston Brown; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was predeceased by her husband, Robert Graves and her grandson, Matthew Andrews.
