James, seems like forever since we shared great times and laughs with you and Kathy. That does nothing to lessen the heartbreak I am feeling.
Love to you and Kaylan and please try to remember the infectious laughter and welcoming person that Kathy was.
May her memory be a blessing
Love and Prayers to All
Brendan Dorney.

Dear James and family,
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to all of you during this most difficult time. This has come as such a shock.
I worked in Fredericton for three years (2015 - 2018) with Kathy (KC) and an incredible group of people at the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries. I was away from my home and family and Kathy took me under her wing immediately and invited me whale watching my first weekend there. I felt like a wedding crasher at first but James and the rest of her family were so friendly and welcoming that it didn't take long to feel as though I'd been with them before. I had a blast and it continued while attending events such as Oktoberfest, Xmas parties, many dinners at the Cromwell's, skating at Kylan's birthday party, walking Sawyer, meeting her friends Jenny and Laurie...so many great memories.
It's been 6 years since then and we did manage to meet up in Toronto last year when she, James and Kylan were visiting family. It was so great to see her again, such a wonderful person, full of life and positive energy, a great sense of humor, a great cook with a good taste in music. I'm not sure how her heart fit in her tiny frame, as it was big enough to care for all of New Brunswick and even a bit of Ontario. She used to say to me, 'Mikey, your ok for an Upper Canadian.' We shared a love for music, especially U2 and the Tragically Hip and often sang our hearts out when our favorite songs came on. She used to send me the odd text from NB letting me know that she had heard a song that we both liked and always signed her texts xoxo, which she called sugar. So KC, now I will have to look up when i hear a good song and look for that sugar coming down from heaven. Rest in Peace my friend, the world is a sadder place without you.

Dear James, Kylan, Kim, Krista, Debbie, and Stephen and my sister, Lori, I am so sorry for the loss of Kathy. I am still numb and in shock and words cannot express what I am feeling. She was my sister's other sister and the third daughter to my parents and just a part of my family. From the time Lori and Kathy became friends, I watched them grow up together and become the soul mates they are. I remember the hairbrush singing, the trendy clothes, the music they shared, and so much more as teens. I am devasted and so heartbroken. She was such a wonderful, kind and joyful person. I have been away from Saint John for so long now and over the years I didn't get to see her as much as I would have liked. I am grateful that I did see her at a family dinner not that too long ago. I wish I could be there to celebrate her life with all of you. Please know that I will be there in heart and in mind. Love you all Terri

I am deeply saddened to hear of Kathy’s passing. While I did not know her well, I have fond memories of her while attending birthday parties for Kylan, when our boys were young and attending the same school/day care. My boys have remained friends with Kylan over the years and are also deeply saddened. To Kylan and James, and Katy’s family, please accept our deepest condolences. Gone too soon but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.

I am still completely in shock that such a beautiful soul has been taken from all that knew her. I graduated with Kathy from Simonds in the grad class of 1987. Any reunion we had she was there and that smile and blond hair would come bouncing over to see you and had to get a picture. To James, Kylan, Lori Hayes and the rest of Kathy's family my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rest in Paradise sweet Kathy.

James and Kyla, like the obituary said, Kathy was a beautiful person inside and out. She certainly lit up a room when she walked in. Kathy will be truly missed in the world. My condolences and prayers go out to James and Kylan. I pray everyday for you in hopes that your sadness will subside and the great memories will emerge. Remember the great time we had on “FamilyFeud”. She was the anchor that held our family together. ❤️. That was such a good time. ❤️

I will miss her forever. I can't believe I will never hear her excited "Hi pookeroo!" again.
I am so lucky to have not only the joy of her being my Auntie, but for being able to be part of your family, and being a mom to me in high school (and the summers before that). I will look back on those memories forever as the best times of my life, and cherish that I have her to thank for being who I am today.
I will remember all the sleepovers I would have with her growing up, or her taking me for photos in my little velvet dress, or taking me clothes shopping, and ALWAYS going to Pizza Delight afterwards. I always felt like the luckiest kid in the world when I was with her-- I KNEW that I was. So kind, so caring, so understanding and insightful. Empathetic, clever, smart beyond measure, witty, and so, so beautiful. She worked hard to have a beautiful life, and she deserved every piece of paradise she had made for herself. That's why her being taken from us is so baffling. So wrong.
She had a wonderful (fake) smile that lit up a room, and it was in her eyes that you could see they always shined SO brightly. She had a love for life like no other. Her joy was contagious, and you could never feel sad for long with her around. She always knew just what to do or say to get a smile from someone. That's what makes this so tough.
Today mom got the package of Dulse she sent in the mail, and I know that she'll always be watching over us.
But this, this will hurt forever.
