Obituary of Beatrice Mable Ellsworth
With heavy hearts, but with appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Beatrice (Sweet) Ellsworth announces her passing on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 28, 1930, in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Crosby) Sweet.
Beatrice is survived by her children: John Ellsworth, Dave Ellsworth (Nadine), Sandy MacDonald (Dave/Mackie), and Teresa O’Brien; daughter-in-law, Brenda Ellsworth; sisters, Barb Edison (the late Charlie) and Sharon Burke (Larry); grandchildren: Trish Ellsworth (Richard Frenette), Tracy Edwards (Chris), Julie Ellsworth (Francois Lemire), Katie Ellsworth, Joe Ellsworth (Asma Benmoussa), Sarah Butler (Ryan), Steve O’Brien (Jill); great-grandchildren: Sophie and Ellie Frenette, Georgie Edwards, Vinnie and Theo Lemire, Ivan and Ayla Ellsworth, Dylan and Cohen Butler, and Jacob O’Brien; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Ellsworth; sons: Joe and Bob Ellsworth; son-in-law, John O’Brien; great-granddaughter, Frankie Edwards; brothers: Ed Sweet (Mervil), Bob Sweet, and John Sweet (Joan); sisters: Millie Ashe (Clifford), Betty Mills (Garnie), Nancy Smith (Jack), Edith Winchester (Murray), Ann Shirley Bent (Carl Sabean), and Mary McAndrew (Andy); and her brother-in-law, Wayne Harrington.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), where visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 12 noon from Brenan’s Chapel. A private interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
