Obituary of David Gordon Rising
The death of David G. Rising occurred on Sunday, November 24, 2024, following a period of illness. Born in Saint John, David was a son of the late Edward L. and Helen G. (Pynn) Rising. He was employed by the Saint John YMCA in his early working days, followed by a career of thirty years with Spencer Investments as a property and parking lot attendant.
David had a passion for music and automobiles – old and new. He was particularly attached to his 1978 Pontiac Gran Le Mans which he drove for over thirty years. He had a positive outlook on life, always saying that everything was wonderful.
He is survived by his three brothers, John E. Rising (Linda) of Kingston, Ontario, twin-brother, Douglas J. Rising (Lynn) of Windsor, Ontario, and Hugh W. Rising (Brenda) of Toronto, Ontario; niece, Peggy Rising; nephews, Ethan Rising and Jack Rising.
Many thanks for the support of the Spencer Family over the years and the staff of Tucker Hall, Shannex, for the care provided to David.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A private family Graveside Service will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
