Obituary of Helene Williams
It is with deep sadness that the family of Helene (Comeau) Williams announces her passing which occurred at Shannex – Cohen Hall on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Born in Bathurst, NB, on November 20, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Melanson) Comeau.
Helene was a Registered Nurse at Centracare before retiring. Following retirement, she was an honorary member of the New Brunswick Historical Society, a member of The Catholic Women’s League. She volunteered for many organizations including, Citizens for Fort Latour, Loyalist House, New Brunswick Museum, and North End Community Centre.
Helene leaves behind her children, Elizabeth Walsh (Troy), Helene Muir (Don), Alan Williams (Karen), Patricia Williams; sister, Corinne; brothers, Norman Comeau (Monique), Edgar Comeau (Helen), Regis Comeau; grandchildren, Todd Williams, Josh Muir (Candace), Matthew Williams (Kendal), Jim Muir (Chelsea), George Muir (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Addyson, Hunter, Paxton, Luke, Marley, Avery, Cora; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helene was predeceased by her husband, James Williams; son, Jamie Williams; daughters, Margaret Anne Williams, Gwen Williams; sister, Therase Hennessy.
The family would like to give a special appreciation to nurses and staff of Shannex – Cohen Hall.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Thursday, December 12, 2024, 3:00 – 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Holy Redeemer Parish (St. Pius X) on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Donations in memory of Helene may be made to a local charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
