Obituary of Gerald "Johnny" Chamberlain

The family of Gerald (Johnny) Buckley Chamberlain is saddened to announce he passed away December 12, 2024 at his home in Thirroul, Australia.  Johnny grew up in Renforth with his parents Joe and Lolly (Buckley) and older siblings, Ann, Joe, Eddy, Tom, Donald and Mary.

Johnny married Elaine Doherty, sister of Glen, Kathy and Lynn, on February 20, 1996 in Sri Lanka.  They raised their children, Aidan and Anna, in Australia.  Although he spent his later years in Australia, part of his heart always remained in Renforth.

Johnny faced life with strength and resilience.  His family and friends hope his story encourages others to reach out for help and to offer compassion and understanding to those who may be struggling.

There will be a Mass of Remembrance at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Friday, December 20 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Outflow Men’s Shelter.
