Obituary of Wally Saunders

The death of Walter “Wally” Leigh Saunders of Saint John, loving husband of Linda (Elder) Saunders, occurred on Saturday, December 14, 2024 in the tender and compassionate care of Bobby’s Hospice.  Born on September 23, 1949 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Walter Saunders and Helen Osbourne.

A lover of the outdoors, Wally enjoyed fishing and hunting.

In addition to his wife, Linda, Wally will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Theresa Saunders and Tina Rains (Wes); step-sons, Stephen Touchakis (Nicky) and Andrew Touchakis (Anna); brother, Ronald Saunders; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Chris Rains.

In keeping with Wally’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424).
